A Day At The Park

A Day At The Park, originally uploaded by *autumnlove.

Hubby, Soprano and I spent the day at the park on Tuesday. It was a really nice day and we had a good time there. It was something like 84 degrees. The park is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and a crick, so it’s sort of cooler there. I still got a little sun burned though, but nothing bad. I need a tan, I’m like vampire-ish white. X-X

We had Bar B Que at the park. Hubby grilled Turkey dogs, turkey burgers and corn on the cob. It was yummy delicious :P Soprano was really happy because he got to have two turkey dogs. I never seen him drool so much!

Speaking of Soprano, I took him in the crick to cool off and splash around while hubby cooked the food. He loves the water now! When he was a puppy forget about it, he wouldn’t even go near the water. He was seriously terrified of it. I think after us going to the park so many times and him seeing me go in it, he must have realized it’s OK. He even saved my flip flop! I was walking with him in the crick and it came off my foot. It was floating away, here i was trying to chase it down and he takes his paw, plops it down on my flip flop and I grab it. It was so adorable!

After we were done eating we played Yahtzee for awhile. I ended up getting four Yahtzee’s in one game! I guess you already know i won that one :) I guess the park is good luck for me ♥

As you can see, I’m currently reading Little Bee. I’ve seen it several times online and in stores, so i finally just bought it. I’m really glad i did. I’m only a couple chapters in but so far I’m really enjoying it. I tried to read for awhile at the park but it didn’t last very long. The bugs started to attack me and i just got fed up. I can take them pestering me for awhile, but after so long i just get tired of it. I should of put some OFF on before we went, but i didn’t even think to do it.. Next time hopefully i remember! Well anyhow, life calls. Enjoy this beautiful day! It’s supposed to be 89 degrees here.

Rose Garden, Rain & Clue

Yesterday Jas and I went to the rose garden to take photos. It’s probably my favorite place to shoot besides Carson Street and Erie. Not everything is bloomed yet, but i got some beautiful photos including this one of the Japanese Maple Tree

I’m dying for the lavender to bloom. I have an obsession with lavender and photos of it. I’m thinking nature is god’s special gift to us, to make our earth beautiful and smelling good.

Today was such a long and dreary day. I can’t wait for it to be over and done with. It rained all day long and not just a light rain, it was one of those rains that just keeps coming down, steady and hard. When it’s like this, it makes me tired and sad for some reason. Does it do it to you?? I just feel like blah! On a good note though, i got some pictures of the raindrops. I love being able to get close and seeing the reflection of everything in the drops. I was finally able to do it, because i found my close up filters. Well two of them at least, the other two are still MIA. I’m thinking they’re packed in one of the boxes in the little space under the stairs. I plan on having Jason look because it’s a pain in the arse to get back there. Isn’t that what husbands are for? To do the things us women don’t want to!

We just got done playing the game Clue. It has to be my favorite game now. We play it at least three times a week. I got my strategies now, so i make it tough for everyone else to figure things out while i figure it out quicker but hold out to confuse them! I love it ♥ Honestly though, it works sometimes but other times it can bite me right in the tush lol.

Well I’m sleepy and ready to read for awhile, so I’m getting off of here.

Weather & Books

I spent the day trying to get clothes done, but the weather just didn’t agree with me. It was hit and miss storms all day, so i ended up running outside every few minutes to check the clothes. Annoying! I have to hang them outside because the dryer broke (go figure!) Oh well, i could get a new dryer but i refuse. My grandmother whom i never met bought it for my parents when they got married in 1971, well my mom always made my dad fix it because it meant the entire world to her. Guess what I’m going to do?? Make my husband fix it! It means the entire world to me, because it meant so much to my momma. So that’s that. In the end though, the clothes did end up drying because i hung them on the side porch which is closed in. That was my day though.. Gamble with the weather.

I’m reading the Beach Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club. I am in total love with Gil Mcneil’s writing. It’s witty and humorous. I could seriously see myself in full conversation with her main character Jo, because she’s a lot like me in the way she talks. It’s extremely easy to read and get into. It’s one of those books you keep reading and reading not even realizing a few hours have passed. So far so good :)

Speaking of… i think I’ll get off here and read for awhile before i go to bed.

Momma’s Day

It was a really nice Momma’s Day! Jas had to work of course, so Barbie, My mother in law and I played Clue until Jas got home and then we all played. It was good family time together. We got my mother in law a nice card, i made her potato soup (she loves it!) and we gave her money to use however she wants. She tricked Barbie and Jason while we were playing Clue, I almost fell for it to, both of them ending up going out right in the beginning of one of the games. Sneaky stuff but funny :)

We had to run to Walmart earlier and while there i got a new book it’s On Folly Beach by Karen White and some Paula Dean candles. Did i ever mention how much i love Paula Dean?! She’s like the chicken in my noodle soup. I would buy anything with her name on it because i know it’s good stuff. I have a saute pan of hers and i just love it! I have one of the candles burning now and it seriously smells good enough to eat. You know it smells good when the cat starts sniffing the box the candles came in.

Speaking of cat… My little sister wanted to bring over her cat, the neighbor was watching it while we figured out what to do with it.. well anyway, she really missed it so i told her we would try it out. Well, the cat just does not like my dog or cat. It scratched Peanuts face and scratched Soprano by the eye (he’s OK, she got him on the outside part of his eye luckily!). I tried everything to help the cat feel comfortable. I left her in the carrier so the animals could sniff her and she could sniff them, well she hissed, growled, and swatted even in the carrier at them. We figured to give her a few days in the carrier to get used to the animals (we of course let her out throughout the day to eat, drink and go to the litter box) well, we thought we would try to bring her out because she seemed calmer after having the dog and cat walk by her everyday. She went soooooo nuts!! She tried to attack us all! Peanut went after her because she was hissing, growling and swatting in my arms and then Soprano went after her and she just kept trying to fight them both. It was scary and crazy. After all that we all decided she has to go, tomorrow we’re taking her to the no kill shelter and hopefully they can find someone who doesn’t have any other pets to take her. With just people she is calm and sweet, but bring her around another cat or dog and she goes insane. I feel bad having to get rid of her, but i can’t have one of us getting seriously injured.

Well :P i am sooo sleepy. I think I’ll read awhile and then go to bed.
